1. The Little Risk You Can Take To Increase Your Luck by Tina Seelig
This is an awesome Ted Talk which shows you why pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can have incredible benefits.
For those of you that may not believe in luck or think that you might be unlucky, this Ted Talk will show you that YOU actually play a huge part in your own “luck”!
This is an amazing mentality to develop because it helps you realize that you are in control of your own destiny and that it’s not just up to fate to decide whether or not you succeed.
She also gives you some great tips to help you understand the level of risk that you are willing to take and then inspires you to take thoSise risks so that you can have way more opportunities in life! Check it out here!
2. The Power of Believing That You Can Improve by Carol Dweck
In this Ted Talk, Carol Dweck talks about the benefits of believing in yourself and believing that you can always improve.
Basically she is talking about having a growth mindset, which is basically believing that your capabalities are not fixed and that you can always improve on any skill that you have.
This is definitely what sets apart the high achievers of the world because they continuously strive for improvement, so they learn and practice their asses off.
They also become much less discouraged when they face failures or mistakes.
This Ted Talk will definitely help you develop a success mindset! Watch it here.
3. Keep Your Goals to Yourself by Derek Sivers
Now this Ted Talk through me for a loop!
I had never thought about this and I actually thought that telling your goals to people was good because it would hold you accountable!
But it turns out that it makes you less likely to achieve them! Crazy stuff.
I’m usually the type to blab about all my “great ideas” to everyone, so this really made me rethink things! Watch it here.
4. The Surprising Habits of Original Thinkers by Adam Grant
If you are a procrastinator (like myself!) you will definitely like this one!
It talks about how procrastinators are generally more likely to come up with creative ideas!
I have actually always found that my best ideas come to me when I’m supposed to be working on something else, so I can totally vouch for this! It also talks about how the people who always love to get things done way in advance are actually inhibiting themselves because they aren’t giving themselves the mental space to be original!
Definitely something to think about when deciding your strategy for achieving your goals! Check it out here.
5. 8 Secrets of Success by Richard St. John
Now I couldn’t write a post about success and acheiving your goals without this gem! This guy is super funny and reminds you of the simple but key things that you need to do to reach your goals. Watch it here.
6. Why You Should Define Your Fears Instead of Your Goals by Tim Ferris
This one is my personal favourite because I love Tim Ferris! And it was really crazy when I watched this Ted Talk because he actually totally described the process that I have been doing for around a year now for overcoming my fears!
It was really crazy and made me want to give myself a big ol’ pat on the back for doing the same thing as my favourite business/personal development guru! In this video, he talks about an exercise called “fear setting”.
He frames this exercise as a way to overcome your mental hold-backs in order to reach your goals. And it’s super simple and easy to do!
You can watch it here.
And if this suits your tune, I am developing a mindset training course that actually uses this technique (but in a bit more detail) to help you overcome any type of fear, whether it is in your personal life or in your business (or business aspirations).
So I hope that these Ted Talks have inspired you to go reach your goals! Let me know if you like them down in the comments, and let me know what other things you are struggling with to reach your goals!
