This is an awesome Ted Talk which shows you why pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can have incredible benefits.

For those of you that may not believe in luck or think that you might be unlucky, this Ted Talk will show you that YOU actually play a huge part in your own “luck”!

This is an amazing mentality to develop because it helps you realize that you are in control of your own destiny and that it’s not just up to fate to decide whether or not you succeed.

In this Ted Talk, Carol Dweck talks about the benefits of believing in yourself and believing that you can always improve.

Basically she is talking about having a growth mindset, which is basically believing that your capabalities are not fixed and that you can always improve on any skill that you have.

This is definitely what sets apart the high achievers of the world because they continuously strive for improvement, so they learn and practice their asses off.

They also become much less discouraged when they face failures or mistakes.

3. Keep Your Goals to Yourself by Derek Sivers

Now this Ted Talk through me for a loop!

I had never thought about this and I actually thought that telling your goals to people was good because it would hold you accountable!

But it turns out that it makes you less likely to achieve them! Crazy stuff.

4. The Surprising Habits of Original Thinkers by Adam Grant

If you are a procrastinator (like myself!) you will definitely like this one!

It talks about how procrastinators are generally more likely to come up with creative ideas!

I have actually always found that my best ideas come to me when I’m supposed to be working on something else, so I can totally vouch for this! It also talks about how the people who always love to get things done way in advance are actually inhibiting themselves because they aren’t giving themselves the mental space to be original!

Now I couldn’t write a post about success and acheiving your goals without this gem! This guy is super funny and reminds you of the simple but key things that you need to do to reach your goals. Watch it here.

6. Why You Should Define Your Fears Instead of Your Goals by Tim Ferris

This one is my personal favourite because I love Tim Ferris! And it was really crazy when I watched this Ted Talk because he actually totally described the process that I have been doing for around a year now for overcoming my fears!

It was really crazy and made me want to give myself a big ol’ pat on the back for doing the same thing as my favourite business/personal development guru! In this video, he talks about an exercise called “fear setting”.

He frames this exercise as a way to overcome your mental hold-backs in order to reach your goals. And it’s super simple and easy to do!
